From his childhood, Charlie Palmer has been intrigued by real estate. He grew up on a golf course, watching his father help develop the property around them. When it came time for college, though, he opted to study biology at Auburn and Emory Universities, planning to follow his brother into dentistry. He changed directions a short time later, moving into computer science at the College of Charleston and The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. It was during that time he first earned his real estate license.
His successful business career began with IBM and then further progressed to UNISYS, Merrill Lynch, KPMG and Ernst & Young while living in the Atlanta area. Real estate ventures and opportunities began calling, and he dipped his toe in real estate through custom homes and developments. He eventually transitioned to real estate full-time on the front end of opening a Charleston location of Michael Nicklaus’ luxury real estate agency.
Charlie has been visiting the Gulf Coast — from Alabama to Florida — for years and joined Kaiser Sotheby’s International Realty as a broker before coming aboard Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty. He enjoys the challenge of putting together deals for his clients and helping them realize their dream of home ownership at the beach.
In his free time, Charlie enjoys golf and is a movie buff — Jerry Maguire is definitely a favorite. As a previous board member of several Rotary Clubs, community service has been always at his core. He parlays his love of golf community service as a board member of The First Tee of the Gulf Coast, which teaches golf and core values to youth. He has also been actively involved with the board of the Bobby Jones Foundation for CSF. Many of Charlie's friends identify him as a thrill-seeker: Feeding hammerhead sharks in Hawaii and running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain .... two days in a row!
